New Year; Same ignorance and hysteria

As has been the case for at least the past three New Year’s Eves, I was deliberately asleep well before the ball dropped at midnight, thus I missed all the politicalization and instant punditry that apparently is now standard fare for any-and-all late night television and non-political social events. The new year began in the same manner as the last two, as I predicted here.

As I have stated elsewhere, I am not on Twitter. I am almost never on Facebook, but when I am it is never as a source of my minimum daily adult requirement for news and information. It is unfortunate so many do and are delighted by the infuriating and nauseating left’s continued destruction of …everything…because in their deluded undeveloped fascist minds, they and they alone have been enlightened, anointed, (self)appointed, and (self)validated as the standard bearers of all that is pure and holy (in a wholly secular PC way, of course) despite the blindness to their boundless ignorance and stupidity from sea-to-shining-“blue” sea—particularly on the coasts.

I do, however, receive a once or twice daily synopsis of selected examples of leftist/progressive twitterdom madness and idiocy of those described above. That was how I was made aware of what transpired on one network’s New Year’s Eve show.

Upon viewing the broadcast clip, I could easily see how it would precipitate simultaneous head tilts and intellectual stupor in the vacuous craniums of viewers in the critically self-important 18-34 (or more) late-night demographic when one of their most revered 24/7/365 sources for social warrior injustice, and Trump derangement syndrome—CNN—while showing a menagerie of quips from an equally vacuous but allegedly witty pantheon of cult personalities, gave platform for about 6 secs to Jane Curtin. Those with life experience that includes the 1970s AD/BM, will recall Curtin as an original cast member on SNL, where those in the aforementioned group probably would not because they have no knowledge of anything that happened before they became self-aware and actuated upon entering their perpetual adolescence, such as the era when SNL was actually a comedy show and funny. WARNING: The linked clip will cause all SJW snowflakes to become apoplectic.

I could imagine their instantaneous bafflement and befuddlement, the traumatic short-circuiting of their synapses into electrical chaos when the visage appeared on their screens. What kind of aggression could this be? But their distressed brains were quickly quieted, their chaos quelled, as the sage of Saturdays lost in the haze of their pre-history began to speak. Their serotonin levels rose to new highs upon hearing the 6-second gospel of political apocalypse put forth by the aged sage, when she did sayeth unto them:

And suddenly the potential micro- mega-aggression vanished; their torment and angst assuaged. They felt safe again, validated by this (now) obviously enlightened historical figure, the relic sure to escape their blood-lust to tear down, de-platform, and destroy by any means necessary, any object, animate or inanimate, that does not meet their arbitrary sense of self-serving selective presentism. Once again, CNN had vanquished any-and-all doubt about their undeniable smug virtue and obvious superiority over those who would dare to say otherwise.

Of course, her comment sparked another titanic battle in twitterdom and inspired loads of commentary. I wouldn’t chime in and add to the din unless I had something productive to offer. Obviously, I think I do, so here it is:

You may recall that my distaste for what the feckless Republican Party has become resulted in renouncing my affiliation and formalized separation. But I would never call for its destruction. It may die naturally in the marketplace of history, ideas and politics—plenty of other parties have—but I highly doubt it, at least not in the near future. But do not for one second think that means I have an affinity for, or will affiliate with, liberal/”progressive” politics. Within seconds of my viewing the clip, I recalled certain events from the past that Curtin should as well, and those who self-ascribe as “progressive” should take time to learn. To that end, in the next post, I will present a history lesson for Jane Curtin and those who would blindly follow into her deranged mental minefield.
